Located about 65 miles south of Puerto Vallarta, on Mexico's Pacific shores, Costalegre is a unique tourist destination. Bahia de Navidad (Christmas Bay)
Bahia de Navidad is the most developed bay in Costalegre, with regards to tourist services and hotels. Situated in southern Costalegre, Christmas Bay features some of the most exclusive hotels and also charming towns like Barra de Navidad and Melaque, where you can find several small hotels.
Bahia Tenacatita (Tenacatita Bay)
This stretch of coast, lined with palapa style restaurants, offers some of the most luxurious hotels as well as affordable accommodations near the beach. Because of the abundance of sea life here, this bay is also a great spot for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Costa Careyes
Wonderful expansive beaches with gentle waves, lush vegetation, a stunning skyline and a few upscale hotels and condos, make this bay one of the most special in Costalegre.
Bahia de Chamela (Chamela Bay)
Ideal for scuba diving, this bay features a great variety of sea life and several small islands. In the southern part of the bay there are good waves for surfing. It has an assortment of hotels, the most outstanding being Las Alamandas, one of the favorite hideaways for several Hollywood celebrities.
Costa Majahuas
This is one of the most beautiful and best preserved areas in Costalegre. It is made up of tranquil beaches, estuaries, mangroves, and an ecological reserve full of marine turtles and wild birds. There are also a few eco-resorts in the area, perfect for those who love nature.
