If the phrase you are what you eat is really true, then dining in Veracruz must be why the locals are such friendly, positive, easygoing folks. Locals take pleasure in preparing and eating large feasts, just for the sake of sharing a meal with the whole family around the table. There is something for everyone in Veracruz. At lunchtime, take a break and savor a fresh shrimp cocktail or a fish ceviche, before resuming your exploration of the city or relaxing on the beaches of Veracruz. A delicious tequila or a cold beer makes the perfect accompaniment for any seafood meal in this sunny beach destination. In the evening, you can enjoy a typical supper of sweet rolls and pastries, called "canillas" or "bombs stuffed with buttermilk". After supper, some good conversation will probably lull you off to a restful nights sleep.
